Overview
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) fragment Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. Originally developed in Russia for neurological research, Semax has been extensively studied for its neuroprotective and cognitive enhancement properties. It acts through multiple mechanisms — including modulation of BDNF expression, neuroplasticity support, and stress-response pathway regulation — without the hormonal effects associated with full ACTH.
Key Benefits
Studied for neuroplasticity enhancement and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) upregulation
Neuroprotective research — investigated in ischemia and brain injury models
Modulation of mood regulation and stress response pathways
Research into focus, attention, and working memory performance
No significant hormonal activity — derived from ACTH without adrenal effects
Reconstitution
Add 1mL bacteriostatic water to achieve 10mg/mL concentration.
Each 0.1mL of solution contains 1mg of Semax.
Swirl gently — do not shake. Allow to fully dissolve.
Storage
Must be refrigerated after reconstitution. Store lyophilized powder below 25°C, away from direct light. Do not freeze reconstituted solution.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
