Overview

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol. It is the standard reconstitution medium for lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides. The benzyl alcohol acts as a bacteriostatic agent — inhibiting microbial growth without killing existing organisms — which allows the vial to remain sterile across multiple uses after the initial puncture. It is not interchangeable with regular sterile water or saline.

Key Features
  • Pharmaceutical-grade sterile water, USP specification
  • 0.9% benzyl alcohol preservative for multi-use safety
  • Compatible with all lyophilized peptides sold by YYZ Peptides
  • Maintains sterility after vial puncture — safe for multi-draw use
How to Use
Using a sterile syringe and needle, draw the required volume of bacteriostatic water and inject slowly into the lyophilized peptide vial. Aim the liquid at the glass wall, not directly at the powder. Swirl gently to dissolve — do not shake. Allow to fully dissolve.
Storage
Store at room temperature, away from direct light. Do not freeze. Discard if the seal has been broken before use, if the solution appears cloudy, or if particulate matter is visible.
Bacteriostatic water is required for reconstituting all lyophilized peptides. Do not substitute with saline, sterile water, or tap water.
